Senior Business Analyst


Job purpose/Position summary

Responsible for providing analytical support to NaturEner and the Managing Member in the areas of project and enterprise finance, asset management, and commercial operations which are overseen by NaturEner’s CEO and President.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project level financial models for NaturEner’s renewable energy projects (both development stage and operating projects)
  • Formalize and maintain NaturEner’s enterprise model
  • Provide financial analysis support for NaturEner’s RFP and REP (Canada) response efforts
  • Provide analytical and modeling support to evaluate various project offtake/revenue structures, e.g., PPA, CFD, hedges, or swaps
  • Analyze NaturEner’s current operating assets for O&M and revenue optimization opportunities
  • Stay abreast of and current on key financial indices and trends, e.g., interest rates, relevant commodity prices, power prices, debt and equity rates and terms
  • Develop presentations for NaturEner, the Managing Member, and current/potential partners
  • Serve as an internal consultant to other business units that require ad-hoc analytical support
  • Formalize processes and controls for model documentation, administration and revision history

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s – Accounting / Finance
  • Master’s – Accounting / Finance / MBA (preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in renewable energy, project finance, FP&A, or asset management
  • Investment banking knowledge and experience highly desired
  • Strong understanding of both US and Canadian corporate finance and accounting principles, e.g., NPV, IRR, DCF, Capital Budgeting, Financial statement modeling
  • Strong understanding of both US and Canadian basic financial accounting and tax theories, e.g., Production Tax Credits (PTCs), financial statements, and depreciation methods
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

Location/Working conditions

  • Position can be in either San Francisco, California or West Palm Beach, Florida
  • Works in a typical office environment
  • Occasional travel should be expected
  • Occasional overtime and on call availability should be expected
